Assignment #2

"What is the most important quality you look for in a future spouse?"

This question took me a long time. I had thought of everything I want in a future husband, but I had never come up with just one word. But now, thanks to this assignment I have. The most important quality I want in a future spouse (in my case Husband) is courage.

Courage is a big word, so I will explain what I mean. I want the person I marry to be courageous for Christ. That means being bold in his faith. I want him to love Christ so much that I am a distant second.

I want the person I marry to be courageous in confrontation. I fight mean. I will just throw it out there. I can read people really well. And unfortunately for my future husband that means I will be able to find his weaknesses and throw them in his face. Yes, this is me, Chandler Miss Non-confrontation talking. I don’t like to fight. But when I’m do, I am UGLY!!!!!!!! That’s why I need someone who is courageous enough to tell me to be quiet.

I also want the person I marry to be courageous enough to tell me things. If something I do bothers him, I want to know. If I were an outfit that causes him to stumble, I want to know.

I want him to be bold enough in his faith that when we go out to eat he says he’s going to bless the meal, and not waiting to see if I say anything about it.

A big thing that I care about is purity. My first kiss will be on my wedding day. That means that I won’t be smoochin’ my future husband. I know that people won’t understand that. I know people will probably make fun of me and him for that, but I want him to be bold enough to tell people that he is honoring me and God. This is probably one of the biggest things to me. I want my future husband to defend my stand for purity. I don’t want him to be ashamed of embarrassed when his friends ask why we don’t kiss. I want him to be courageous in the fact that he defends me and my beliefs.

I know I have lots of demands. But the person I marry I will be married to for life. I would love the person I marry to be the cutest and the most hansom in the whole world, but that’s really not all that important to me.  I want someone who loves me for me, who defends me, and who takes me closer to God.  I want my future husband to be a couargeous knight in the army of God.

Marriage is a journey, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I want someone who will take my hand and walk with me on the spiritual journey; someone who is a leader, someone who can work with me and exhibit patience, someone who is a courageous follower of the Lord.
