A wish for you

Year’s go by, day’s move on
But you, will never change
Your memory will always be fresh
Your love forever impressed upon our hearts

We miss you, we love you
We wish you were here
But we know
You are happy
So today I just wish to you
A happy birthday

People change
Seasons never end
Leaves change
With the change in temperature
But you will never change
You are in our memories forever

We miss you, we love you
We wish you were here
But we know
You are happy
So today I just wish to you
A happy birthday

As we age we’ll think of you
As we grow old we’ll whisper your name
We all miss you here
But we know that you are better off there
Still we miss you

So today, in honor of what would have been a special day
The hearts of those who miss you will sing this song today

We miss you, we love you
We wish you were here
But we know
You are happy
So today I just wish to you
A happy birthday

We wish we could see you
We wish we could hold you
We know that is not possible
 That we are being selfish

We miss you, we love you
We wish you were here
But we know
You are happy
So today I just wish to you
A happy birthday

Are the choirs in heaven singing to you?
Did they get you a brand new car?
Are you smiling and laughing and eatin’ cake
In heaven where you are?

We miss you, we love you
We wish you were here
But we know
You are happy
So today, I just wish to you
A happy birthday

So today, I just wish to you
A happy birthday

Dear Beth,

Happy 16th b-day.  What are sweet sixteen's like up in heaven?  I want you to know that everyone here loves you.  We don't understand why you are gone, but we do know that you are in a better, happier place.  I love you, and I miss you.  Have a wonderful birthday!!
Love,
  Chandler

Assignment #3

Slow Dancing in a Burning Room

Darkness, death, unhapiness, divorce.  These thoughts aren't typically what you think about at a wedding.  Why a wedding?  Well, what do you think about when you think of an expression of love?  A white dress, a kiss, a ring, flowers?  When two people get married the preacher says "to love and to cherish until death bid you part.''
The preacher isn't talking about the death of a feeling but a physical death.  This song is talking about the death of a feeling.  And sadly it's true to what most people believe.  Feelings fade. It's a sad fact of life.  We don't like that they fade, but they do.
Love is a choice.  A hard one.  Infatuation is not a choice, it is a feeling.  Often times we mix those to up and then there are problems.
We in America are told that love is a feeling, that love is satisfaction in a physical relationship.  That's is not what the Bible says.  GOD is love.  God is perfect, kind, patient, forgiving, and eternal.  So if God is all of these things and God is love, love must be all of these things.
This song made me very sad.  It's talking about a realtionship falling apart, it's talking about the world's version of love.
This song can be a good or bad song.  If you listen to it with the ears of the world all you will hear is that love fails.  It goes away, it disapears.  But if you try to listen to it the way God does you get a "in your face" kind of message.  True love, God's love, doesn't fail.  When we listen to this song through the ears of God we get a wonderful reminder.  The love we have on earth isn't perfect.  And God's love isn't the kind we have on earth.  We don't have to worry, or suck up, because God will always love us, because God is love.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

Assignment #2

"What is the most important quality you look for in a future spouse?"

This question took me a long time. I had thought of everything I want in a future husband, but I had never come up with just one word. But now, thanks to this assignment I have. The most important quality I want in a future spouse (in my case Husband) is courage.

Courage is a big word, so I will explain what I mean. I want the person I marry to be courageous for Christ. That means being bold in his faith. I want him to love Christ so much that I am a distant second.

I want the person I marry to be courageous in confrontation. I fight mean. I will just throw it out there. I can read people really well. And unfortunately for my future husband that means I will be able to find his weaknesses and throw them in his face. Yes, this is me, Chandler Miss Non-confrontation talking. I don’t like to fight. But when I’m do, I am UGLY!!!!!!!! That’s why I need someone who is courageous enough to tell me to be quiet.

I also want the person I marry to be courageous enough to tell me things. If something I do bothers him, I want to know. If I were an outfit that causes him to stumble, I want to know.

I want him to be bold enough in his faith that when we go out to eat he says he’s going to bless the meal, and not waiting to see if I say anything about it.

A big thing that I care about is purity. My first kiss will be on my wedding day. That means that I won’t be smoochin’ my future husband. I know that people won’t understand that. I know people will probably make fun of me and him for that, but I want him to be bold enough to tell people that he is honoring me and God. This is probably one of the biggest things to me. I want my future husband to defend my stand for purity. I don’t want him to be ashamed of embarrassed when his friends ask why we don’t kiss. I want him to be courageous in the fact that he defends me and my beliefs.

I know I have lots of demands. But the person I marry I will be married to for life. I would love the person I marry to be the cutest and the most hansom in the whole world, but that’s really not all that important to me.  I want someone who loves me for me, who defends me, and who takes me closer to God.  I want my future husband to be a couargeous knight in the army of God.

Marriage is a journey, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I want someone who will take my hand and walk with me on the spiritual journey; someone who is a leader, someone who can work with me and exhibit patience, someone who is a courageous follower of the Lord.

Golden light, golden walls
Golden halos, golden wings
Angels flutter here and there
Halos winking in the light
Life sits on the throne
The choir of the heavenly host sings His praise
You are right there beside Him
You wipe his feet with your hair
You kneel before Him
You sing His praise
The Rose of Sharon beckons you forth
And He forms a hole in the clouds
You look down and see us here
You see us weeping on the ground
Our weeping makes you sad, but you don’t cry
But no tears will come
For where you are they are not allowed
If you had tears you would shed them
Shed them for the poor mortals weeping on the ground
We miss you and we long for you
When in truth you are happy
We on earth are selfish
We want you back
Today!
We wish to see you, to hold you, to love you
We want to be with you
We want you back on earth
You smile a sad smile
You miss us, but you don’t want to come back
Where you are there is no sadness, no pain
And most certainly no evil gain
We won’t you back, but you can’t and won’t come
For now you are with the King of Kings
You look up at Love
He nods His head
And the cloud portal closes
You say good-by, but you are no longer sad
Because you here the echo from earth
You here the promise that we make:
“We miss you, and we’re sad. We wish you were here with us. But while we’re here without you we’ll share about Life and Love. We may be sad now, but soon we will all rejoice. For soon, very soon, we will be with you again.”

Beth,
I love you and I miss you!  Everyone here misses you.  But we know that we'll be with you soon.  Save me a place in the heavenly choir!!  :)  See you soon!
     Love,
          Chandler

Those Who Cannot Choose
There was balance in the world
God chose who would be born, and when
But you, pitiful humans, thought you were smarter
You messed with the world
And it will never be in balance again
What about me?
Did I choose my gender?
Did I choose to go to where I would be slaughtered?
Why would I choose pain?
Why would I choose to die?
Why me?
I did not choose to be considered a problem or a curse!
I did not choose to be made to die!
We are INNOCENT, my sisters and I!

God had order and balance
But you screwed it up!
You are mad at God for making me what I am, but you don’t punish him!
You punish ME!

You are mad at Him for giving you girls instead of boys.
But you are so weak, and stupid that you don’t realize that you CANNOT hurt God
So you aim for the only one’s you can
We the innocent

Did we choose our genders?
Did we choose to die?
No. No.

You are mad at God, but you hurt us
The world is out of balance now
And it’s all because those who couldn’t choose are gone
All because we, the innocent, are dead
